..…Commissioner Lauds Adesina Sikiru Adisa for People-Oriented Projects
The Executive Chairman of Ewekoro Local Government, Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa, has commissioned a fresh wave of development projects across the council area, with the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, who represented the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON , commending the administration for its commitment to people-oriented development.
The projects were commissioned on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at a colourful ceremony attended by thousands of residents, traditional rulers, government officials, political leaders, community leaders, traders, religious leaders, transport workers, members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) and other stakeholders.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Commissioner, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, described the projects as further evidence of the commitment of the Ewekoro Local Government administration to improving the living conditions of residents and delivering meaningful dividends of democracy at the grassroots.
According to him, the commissioning was another demonstration of the administration's determination to transform the local government through projects that directly impact the people.
“Six months ago or thereabout, we came to commission so many projects, and here we are again to commission legacy projects that our chairman has given to our people,” Hamzat said.
The Commissioner disclosed that, apart from the projects being commissioned at the ceremony, the council had also completed and commissioned 15 lock-up shops at Wasimi, as well as health facilities and staff quarters at Awowo.
He further highlighted the reconstruction of a primary school, including the provision of desks and benches to create a more conducive learning environment for pupils, as well as the provision of four VIP modern toilet facilities equipped with solar-powered boreholes.
Hamzat commended the Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, for providing the necessary support to local governments across the state, which, he said, had contributed significantly to the delivery of development projects and dividends of democracy to communities.
The Commissioner equally acknowledged the support of traditional rulers, particularly the Olu of Itori, Oba (Dr.) Abdulfatai Akorede Akamo, for the administration of Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa and for his support for the programmes and initiatives of the Ogun State Government.
He appealed to residents to take ownership of the projects, protect the facilities and ensure their proper maintenance for the benefit of present and future generations.
In his address, the elated Executive Chairman of Ewekoro Local Government, Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa, expressed gratitude to Almighty God for what he described as another significant milestone in the administration's efforts to promote sustainable grassroots development and improve the welfare and living standards of the people.
The Chairman said the commissioning of the projects reflected the commitment of the Ogun State Government and Ewekoro Local Government to delivering meaningful and impactful development to communities.
“I am particularly delighted to witness the official commissioning of these laudable projects, which reflect the commitment of the Ogun State Government and Ewekoro Local Government administrations to delivering meaningful and impactful development to our communities,” he said.
Hon. Adesina expressed profound appreciation to the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, for his continued support for grassroots development, describing the Governor's support as instrumental to the achievements recorded across the local governments in Ogun State.
According to the Chairman, the projects being commissioned cut across critical sectors, including education, healthcare, electricity, commerce, road infrastructure, water supply and public safety.
The Chairman commended the management team of Ewekoro Local Government, the Leader and other members of the Legislative Council, the Executive Arm and the entire workforce of the council for their dedication, professionalism and unwavering commitment to the successful implementation of the projects.
Hon. Adesina also appealed to residents and communities to protect and maintain the newly commissioned facilities.
“Together, we can preserve these investments for the benefit of present and future generations,” he said.
The Chairman reaffirmed that Ewekoro Local Government would continue to complement the developmental agenda of the Ogun State Government through programmes and projects aimed at improving the quality of life of residents.
In their goodwill messages, the Olu of Itori, Oba (Dr.) Abdulfatai Akorede Akamo; former Chairmen of Ewekoro Local Government, Hon. Kehinde Adepegba and Hon. Gafar Balogun; Iyaloja General of Ewekoro Local Government, Alhaja Bushirat Ejire; and Iyalode Obada, Alhaja Jemilat Ogundare, commended the Chairman for what they described as the transformation taking place across the council area.
The speakers paid glowing tributes to Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa for the execution of laudable projects and his efforts towards improving infrastructure and the welfare of the people.
They also appreciated Governor Dapo Abiodun for the various state government projects located within Ewekoro Local Government, assuring the Governor of their continued support for the programmes and initiatives of both the state and Ewekoro local government.
Earlier in her welcome address, the Head of Local Government Administration, Mrs. Adeyemo Nurat Taiwo, described the commissioning ceremony as more than a celebration of completed projects, saying it represented a celebration of purposeful leadership, accountability and a shared commitment to improving the lives of the people.
She noted that the achievements were a testament to what could be accomplished when leadership was driven by sincerity, dedication and a genuine desire to serve.
“History will undoubtedly remember your administration as one that placed the welfare of the people above every other consideration,” she said.
Mrs. Adeyemo also expressed appreciation to the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, for his visionary leadership and commitment to grassroots development, which she said had helped provide necessary support for local governments across the state.
In his vote of thanks, the Secretary to Ewekoro Local Government, Hon. Adewale Michael Aladeselu (JP), appreciated the distinguished guests, traditional rulers, political leaders, community leaders and other stakeholders for honouring the invitation and participating in what he described as a historic commissioning ceremony.
He also acknowledged everyone who contributed in one way or another to the successful execution of the projects and the commissioning ceremony.
The event was attended by top government officials from the state and local government, party leaders, royal fathers, market men and women,religious leaders, community leaders, transport workers, members of the NYCN and other stakeholders.
