Ewekoro Local Government has taken another bold step in repositioning its education sector with the commencement of a comprehensive chalkboard renovation project across all public primary schools within the council area.

The initiative, which involves the procurement of 800 gallons of specialized chalkboard renovation chemicals, underscores the administration’s unwavering commitment to improving teaching and learning conditions for pupils.
The large-scale intervention has already gained significant momentum, with application of the renovation chemicals ongoing in various primary schools. Current reports indicate that the project has reached approximately 80 percent completion, reflecting both efficiency in execution and the administration’s determination to deliver timely results that directly impact classroom experiences.
Speaking on the development, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa, emphasized that quality education remains a top priority of his administration.
He noted that “a conducive learning environment is fundamental to the intellectual growth of our children. This chalkboard renovation initiative is a deliberate effort to ensure that both teachers and pupils can carry out academic activities without avoidable limitations.”
The Chairman further stated that the intervention goes beyond aesthetics, stressing its practical value in classroom delivery. “We understand that effective teaching begins with the right tools. By restoring these chalkboards, we are directly enhancing the capacity of our teachers to deliver lessons clearly and effectively, which ultimately benefits our pupils,” he added.
In ensuring sustainability, the remaining quantities of the renovation chemicals will be distributed to schools for future maintenance. To facilitate this process, head teachers across the council area will soon be contacted through the Education Secretary of the Local Government Education Authority, Prince Semiu Adelani, to collect their respective consignments at the Local Government Secretariat in Itori on behalf of their schools.
Beyond the chalkboard renovation project, the administration has continued to make remarkable strides in the education sector with the ongoing construction of new blocks of classrooms . According to the Chairman, “our goal is not only to fix what is worn out but to expand access and create more space for effective learning. Education is the bedrock of development, and we are committed to investing in it.”
The ongoing construction classroom blocks are being complemented with the provision of benches and tables, ensuring that pupils benefit from both improved infrastructure and comfort.

Hon. Adisa reiterated that “every child in Ewekoro deserves to learn in a safe, decent, and well-equipped environment, and we will not relent until this is achieved across all our schools.”
As the chalkboard renovation project nears completion and other infrastructural developments continue, the Chairman assured residents that more impactful initiatives are underway.

He called on stakeholders, teachers, and community members to support the government’s efforts, noting that “education is a collective responsibility, and together, we can build a brighter future for our children and our local government.”
