............Music, Culture, Dance and Cash Rewards Light Up Itori as Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa Celebrates Workers in Grand Style
It was a day Itori would not forget in a hurry as the ancient town, headquarters of Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State, literally stood still on Thursday, 18th December 2025, when the council hosted its first-ever End-of-Year Party tagged “NULGELIGANZA: OJUDE ESKAY – Season 1.”
From the early hours of the day, the Ewekoro Local Government Secretariat transformed into a carnival ground of colour, rhythm and excitement, as political leaders, career staff, traditional rulers and invited guests converged in an atmosphere soaked in thanksgiving, joy, unity and celebration of outstanding achievements.
The air was filled with music, cultural rhythms and joyous chants as elegantly dressed staff—predominantly in radiant white attire, adorned with colourful caps and headgear—turned the venue into a breath-taking spectacle of harmony and elegance.
Speaking amid thunderous applause, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa, poured out his heart in gratitude to Almighty God for His grace upon the Local Government, while appreciating the workforce and political functionaries for their unrelenting commitment to grassroots development.
" This year has been truly remarkable. Together, we have recorded milestones on infrastructure, healthcare and community engagement ---- achievements that earned Ewekoro Local Government the prestigious Best Local Government Award in Ogun State. I am immensely proud of what we have achieved together," he declared.
The Chairman described public service as a sacred trust anchored on excellence, integrity and compassion, assuring staff of a continuous commitment to their welfare.
" My administration is deliberate about creating an enabling environment where every worker can thrive and reach their potential," he added
The celebration reached a fever pitch when Hon. Adesina dramatically announced cash gifts, a gesture that sparked excitement, jubilation and renewed motivation across the workforce. The move, according to the Chairman, was aimed at encouraging healthy competition, productivity and excellence in the coming year.
He also commended the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Ewekoro Branch, for conceptualizing and organizing what he described as a ground-breaking celebration that united political office holders and career staff on one joyous platform
Reaffirming his worker-friendly posture, the Chairman disclosed that his administration had concluded arrangements for end-of-year bonus payments for all workers, a practice he said has remained consistent since the inception of his leadership.
Goodwill messages from the Olu of Itori, Oba (Dr.) Abdul-Fatai Akorede Akamo, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Ethnic Affairs, Chief Sunday Chukwu Emeka, Engr. Olawunmi Olanike Ogunbona, FNSE, who was represented by the Head Of Local Government Administration, Abeokuta South Local Government, Mrs Funmi Shoberu, and the Head Of Local Government Administration, Ewekoro Local Government, Mrs Ogunyewo Oluwakemi Mutiat, further electrified the event as they showered encomiums on Hon. Adesina for his visionary leadership, human-centred governance and visible transformation of Ewekoro Local Government.
Earlier, in his welcome address, the NULGE Chairman, Comrade Abdulsalam Ibrahim, described NULGELIGANZA 2025 as more than a celebration.
" This is a moment of reflecting , appreciation, and renewed commitment. It is a celebration of teamwork, sacrifice and the collective spirit that has taken Ewekoro Local Government to enviable heights," he stated.
The event dazzled guests with departmental processions, coordinated dance performances, Ewi renditions, cake-cutting ceremony, exchange of gifts, wining and dining, as each department paid homage to the Executive Chairman in style.
At the climax of the NULGELIGANZA: OJUDE ESKAY SEASON 1, cash rewards were announced:
Finance and Supplies Department – ₦200,000
Information, Education & Sports Department – ₦150,000
Community & Social Development Department – ₦100,000
Other Departments – ₦50,000 each
The historic NULGELIGANZA 2025 ended on a high note, leaving behind a renewed sense of unity, motivation and pride, while firmly establishing Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa as a leader who celebrates people, rewards excellence and governs with heart.
