ADEYEMO REAFFIRMS GRASSROOTS COMMITMENT, COMMISSIONS PROJECTS ACROSS 10 WARDS IN ODEDA LG

The Executive Chairman of Odeda Local Government and Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Ogun State Chapter,  Hon. Folasade Adeyemo, (PhD), has commissioned a wide range of people-oriented projects executed across the ten wards of the Local Government, reaffirming her administration’s commitment to grassroots development and improved living conditions for residents.

The projects, commissioned on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, cut across critical sectors, including water supply, education, road infrastructure, electricity, agriculture, market development and administrative facilities.
The commissioning ceremony brought together government officials, political leaders, traditional rulers, community leaders, stakeholders and residents, who gathered to witness the formal unveiling of the projects as part of the administration’s efforts to deliver tangible dividends of democracy to the people at the grassroots.
Representing the 

Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Oladunjoye Hamzat, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Rotimiolu  Akinlesi, commended the Chairman for her commitment to the welfare of the people and for fulfilling promises made to the residents of Odeda.
He urged residents and beneficiaries to take ownership of the projects by ensuring their proper maintenance and protection, stressing that such collective responsibility would guarantee the sustainability of the facilities for present and future generations.

In her keynote address, Hon. Adeyemo expressed appreciation to the Executive Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, for providing an enabling environment for local government administration to thrive.
She also appreciated the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, and the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Rotimiolu  Akinlesi, for their continued support for grassroots development.

The Chairman described the commissioning as a significant milestone in her administration’s efforts to transform Odeda Local Government and fulfil the mandate entrusted to it by the people.
“Today is a testimony of our collective decision to transform Odeda Local Government and to justify the mandate freely given to us by the good people of Odeda. I salute the management team, Councillors, traditional rulers, political leaders, stakeholders, and the good people of Odeda for their cooperation and understanding,” she said.
Hon. Adeyemo assured residents that the projects were strategically spread across various sectors to address immediate needs while promoting sustainable development throughout the Local Government.

She particularly highlighted the administration’s intervention in agriculture through the provision of cocoa seedlings and fertiliser to local farmers, aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity, strengthening food security and promoting sustainable agriculture.

Among the projects commissioned across the ten wards of Odeda Local Government are:
1) Sinking of motorised borehole and installation of steel stanchion with solar system at Ilugun.

2) Sinking of motorised borehole and installation of steel stanchion with solar system at Baase Village.

3) Sinking of motorised borehole and installation of steel stanchion with solar system at Bode Village 
4) Grading of deplorable roads within all the wards of Odeda Local Government.

5) Provision and supply of 1,000 gallons of chalkboard renovator.
6) Renovation of a block of two classrooms with office and provision of chairs and desks at NUD Primary School, Onibogbo.

7) Renovation of a block of two classrooms with office and provision of chairs and desks at O.L.G. Nursery and Primary School, Odelaitan.
8) Renovation of a block of two classrooms with office and provision of chairs and desks at St. Michael African Nursery and Primary School.

9) Renovation of a block of two classrooms with office and provision of chairs and desks at St. John Anglican Primary School, Ogoboye Village.

10) Construction of a block of two classrooms with office and store at African Church Primary School, Abule Odo Annex, Atokun Village.

11) Dosumu–Palapala Road stabilisation.
12) Repairs, servicing and provision of essential items for the Local Government CAT grader.

13) Renovation works on the Council Chamber and the offices of the Leader and Deputy Leader.
14) Construction of 20 open stalls at Alabata Market.

15) Construction of a box culvert at Magbon Village.
16) Construction of a box culvert at Apakila.

17) Provision and installation of 200 solar street lights across the ten wards of Odeda Local Government.

18) Renovation works at the Chairman’s office, ante-room and conference room.
In his goodwill message, the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, commended Dr. Adeyemo for her achievements and her efforts towards delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Odeda.
Also speaking, the Ogun State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Yemi Sanusi, described the projects as a clear demonstration of good governance. He appealed to the people of Odeda to continue supporting the APC for sustained development in the Local Government.
Similarly, the APC Apex Leader in Odeda Local Government, Pa Michael Fajinmi, and the APC Party Chairman in Odeda Local Government, Chief Saka Musulumi, appreciated the Chairman for executing projects that have direct impact on the lives of residents and for putting smiles on the faces of the people.
In his vote of thanks, the Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. Adeyemi Rotimi, appreciated government officials, political leaders, traditional rulers, stakeholders, residents and other guests for their support and participation in the commissioning ceremony.
