EWEKORO LG BURSTS INTO CELEBRATION AS IGE SAMUEL CONFIRMED AS SUBSTANTIVE HOLGA

Ewekoro Local Government came alive with excitement and celebration, following the confirmation of Mr. Ige Samuel as the substantive Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA), a development widely welcomed by staff and stakeholders across the council.

The atmosphere at the council secretariat was electrifying as workers broke into spontaneous songs, dances, and expressions of joy upon receiving news of the appointment. 

The celebration reflected the confidence and trust reposed in the newly appointed HOLGA, whose years of dedication, professionalism, and exemplary service have earned him widespread admiration.

The jubilation train moved to the office of the Vice Chairman of Ewekoro Local Government, Alhaja Abisola Nurat Aliyu, who joined staff in celebrating the landmark achievement.

Congratulating the HOLGA-designate, Alhaja Aliyu described the appointment as well-deserved, noting that Mr. Ige had consistently distinguished himself as a thoroughbred administrator and a consummate professional.

"Mr. Ige Samuel is an exceptionally hardworking, disciplined, and intelligent officer. Throughout his tenure as Acting HOLGA, he demonstrated uncommon leadership qualities, administrative competence, and an unwavering commitment to service delivery. This appointment is a reward for merit, dedication, and outstanding performance," she stated.

In his response, Mr. Ige Samuel expressed profound appreciation to the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, for approving his appointment. 

He also extended gratitude to the Chairman, Commissioners, and Directors of the Ogun State Local Government Service Commission for finding him worthy of the elevation.

Describing the appointment as a call to greater responsibility, Mr. Ige pledged to justify the confidence reposed in him through dedication, integrity, and exceptional service.

"I am deeply honoured by this appointment and I assure the Commission, the Government, and the people of Ewekoro Local Government that I will continue to give my best in the discharge of my duties. I regard this elevation as a challenge to do more and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of the local government system," he said.

The HOLGA-designate also acknowledged the invaluable support of the Executive Chairman of Ewekoro Local Government, Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa, and members of the Executive Council as well as honourable members of the Legislative arm for providing an enabling environment that facilitated his success while serving in an acting capacity.

He further appreciated the Directors, Heads of Departments, principal officers, and the entire workforce of the council for their loyalty, cooperation, and support, which he described as instrumental to his achievements.

Mr. Ige equally commended the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Comrade Abdulsalam Ibrahim, and members of the union's executive committee for fostering industrial harmony and promoting a peaceful working relationship within the council.

As goodwill messages continue to pour in from colleagues, associates, and well-wishers, expectations remain high that the newly confirmed HOLGA will bring his wealth of experience, administrative expertise, and visionary leadership to bear in further strengthening service delivery and accelerating development in Ewekoro Local Government.

The official inauguration of Mr. Ige Samuel as the substantive Head of Local Government Administration is scheduled to hold tomorrow , Thursday 25th June , 2026.
