EWEKORO LG BOSS, HON ADESINA SIKIRU HAILS OLU OF ITORI'S ENDURING LEGACY IN CULTURAL HERITAGE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AHEAD OF 10TH ODE OBA ITORI 2026

The Executive Chairman of Ewekoro Local Government, Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa, has extended warm felicitations to the Olu of Itori, Oba (Dr.) Abdul- Fatai Akorede Akamo, as the ancient kingdom prepares for the grand 10th Ode Oba Itori celebration scheduled to hold on Saturday, June 6, 2026.

In a statement released through the Council Director Of Information, Mr. Olopade Sakiru, Hon. Adesina described the annual festival as a vibrant embodiment of Yoruba cultural heritage, a unifying occasion that showcases the rich traditions, history, and identity of the Itori people. 

He noted that the celebration serves not only as a platform for cultural rejuvenation but also as a catalyst for fostering communal harmony and progress.

The Chairman particularly commended Oba (Dr.) Akamo for his visionary leadership and tireless efforts in advancing the development of Itori land. Under the monarch’s reign, significant strides have been recorded in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and youth empowerment, transforming the community while preserving its ancestral roots.

Hon. Adesina emphasized the Olu of Itori’s deep commitment to cultural heritage preservation.

 “Oba (Dr.) Abdul Fatai Akorede Akamo has masterfully blended tradition with modernity, ensuring that the customs, festivals, and values that define our people remain alive and relevant to younger generations,” the Chairman stated.

The Ode Oba Itori celebration is expected to attract dignitaries, traditional rulers, cultural enthusiasts, and indigenes from far and wide. It will feature colorful parades, traditional dances, masquerade displays, and rituals that highlight the spiritual and historical significance of the Itori Kingdom.

Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa praised the monarch’s role in strengthening the cultural fabric of Ewekoro Local Government and Ogun State at large. 

He observed that such royal initiatives promote tourism, create economic opportunities for local artisans, and instill pride among residents.

The Chairman called on all sons and daughters of Itori, as well as friends of the kingdom, to actively participate in the forthcoming celebration. He urged them to use the occasion to reflect on shared heritage and commit to collaborative efforts that will further propel the area’s growth and prosperity.

As the community gears up for this historic event, Hon. Adesina expressed confidence that the 2026 edition of Ode Oba Itori would be the most memorable yet, thanks to the dedication and wisdom of Oba (Dr.) Akamo. He prayed for the continued good health, wisdom, and peaceful reign of the revered monarch.
