The Executive Chairman of Ewekoro Local Government, Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa, has extended warm comrade greetings and heartfelt appreciation to all workers across Ewekoro Local Government and Ogun State as they commemorate this year Workers’ Day celebration.
"This special occasion serves as a reminder of the resilience, dedication, and invaluable contributions of the workforce towards the growth and development of our society."
Hon. Adisa acknowledged the sacrifices made by civil servants, artisans, private sector employees, and all categories of workers whose efforts drive progress within Ewekoro and beyond.
The Chairman proudly highlighted that under his administration, Ewekoro Local Government has witnessed significant strides in infrastructural and social development.
These include grading of roads to improve connectivity, construction of blocks of classrooms in primary schools, renovation of blackboards using modern chalkboard renovators, and the construction of health centres to enhance grassroots healthcare delivery.
In addition, his administration has implemented impactful empowerment programmes for youths and women, provided transformers and ensured their energization in various communities, awarded scholarships to students in tertiary institutions, and supported sporting activities in primary schools to encourage talent development and youth engagement.
Speaking on workers’ welfare, Hon. Adisa reiterated that his government places premium value on the well-being of its workforce. He notes the consistent payment of bonuses during festive periods and the deliberate effort to provide a conducive working environment for members of staff, particularly within Ewekoro Local Government, as a demonstration of his administration’s commitment to boosting morale and productivity.
The Chairman also aligned with and commended the worker-friendly policies of the Ogun State Government under the leadership of Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, whose administration has continued to prioritize workers’ welfare through initiatives aimed at improving working conditions, ensuring prompt payment of salaries and promoting capacity development across the state workforce. He noted that these efforts have significantly strengthened industrial harmony and enhanced service delivery in Ogun State.
Hon. Adesina further acknowledged the immense contributions of industrial stakeholders within the local government, particularly Lafarge Africa Plc and Dangote Cement Plc, as well as numerous small and medium-scale enterprises. He commended their workforce for maintaining industrial peace and for their significant role in driving economic growth and development in Ewekoro Local Government.
The Chairman placed special emphasis on the dedication of Ewekoro Local Government staff, describing them as the engine room of effective governance at the grassroots.
According to him, “The commitment, discipline, and cooperation of our staff have been instrumental to the successes we have recorded. Our administration will continue to prioritize their welfare and professional growth.”
He further emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration between government, workers, and the private sector, stressing that collective effort remains the key to achieving sustainable development.
He called on all workers to remain steadfast in their duties while upholding the highest standards of integrity and service.
As Workers’ Day is celebrated, the Executive Chairman saluted the courage, resilience, and contributions of all workers in Ewekoro Local Government and Ogun State.
