In his goodwill message , the Chairman described Eid al-Adha as a sacred celebration that symbolises absolute faith, obedience, sacrifice and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham).

Hon. Adesina noted that the unwavering devotion of Prophet Ibrahim and his willingness to sacrifice his son, Ismail, in obedience to Allah’s command remain enduring lessons for humanity, especially at a time when society is in dire need of compassion, selflessness, peace and moral rebirth.

According to him, “The life of Prophet Ibrahim teaches us uncommon virtues of faith, sacrifice, perseverance, love for humanity and complete trust in Almighty Allah. As Muslims across the world celebrate Eid al-Adha, I urge the faithful to uphold these noble values and continue to promote peace, tolerance, unity and righteousness within our communities.”

While congratulating Muslims on witnessing another Eid-el-Kabir, the Council Chairman also appealed for moderation and prudence in the celebrations, considering the current economic realities facing the nation and the global community.

He advised residents to celebrate responsibly, avoid unnecessary extravagance and extend love and support to the less privileged, stressing that the true essence of Eid lies in sacrifice, charity and compassion for humanity.

“Let this season be a period of sharing, kindness and mutual support. We must continue to remember the vulnerable in our society and strengthen the spirit of communal living and peaceful coexistence irrespective of religious or ethnic differences,” he added.

Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa further reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to the continuous growth and development of Ewekoro Local Government through people-oriented policies and impactful projects.

The Chairman highlighted notable achievements of the administration, including improvements in primary healthcare delivery through renovation and upgrading of health centres across the Local Government, ongoing road rehabilitation and rural road maintenance projects aimed at enhancing socio-economic activities, as well as empowerment initiatives for youths and women through skills acquisition and agricultural support programmes.

He also emphasized the administration’s efforts in strengthening security through collaboration with relevant security agencies, which has significantly enhanced peace and public safety within the Local Government Area.
