OGUN 2027 : " YAYI'S EMERGENCE HERALDS LONG-AWAITED POWER SHIFT TO OGUN WEST,"----OGUNSOLA

The Executive Chairman of Yewa South Local Government, Abraham Babatunde Ogunsola, has called on the people of Ogun State to unite in support of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, following his emergence as the consensus governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Addressing a jubilant crowd at the Yewa South Local Government Secretariat in Ilaro on Tuesday, Barr. Ogunsola described the development as a historic milestone and a long-overdue political correction since the creation of Ogun State in 1976.

According to him, the emergence of Senator Adeola signals a defining moment for the Ogun West Senatorial District, which he said has endured decades of political marginalisation despite its contributions to the state’s growth.

“This is more than a candidacy; it is a movement for justice, equity, and fair representation. Ogun West is poised to take its rightful place in the leadership of our dear state after nearly five decades,”
he declared.
Barr. Ogunsola emphasized that the time has come for the district to move beyond symbolic representation, noting that the office of the Deputy Governor—previously occupied by indigenes of the zone across different administrations—has not translated into meaningful development for the region.

“The Deputy Governor’s office is no longer sufficient for our aspirations. What Ogun West seeks now is full executive authority to drive real and measurable development,” he asserted.
The Chairman also paid glowing tribute to the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON , for his statesmanship, courage and unwavering commitment to fairness in the political process that led to senator's emergence.

He described Governor Abiodun as a visionary leader who has once again demonstrated his deep sense of justice, equity and inclusiveness by supporting a process that reflects the collective will of the people and the need to balance the political equation across the state.

" By allowing the principles of equity and justice to prevail. His Excellency has not only strengthened our democracy but has also laid foundation for lasting unity.  History will undoubtedly be kind to him for the bold and selfless decision,"---he added

The council chairman further pointed to what he described as “unprecedented transformation” in Ogun West under Senator Adeola’s current legislative representation, stressing that such progress offers a glimpse of the broader development Ogun State stands to gain under his governorship.

He maintained that Senator Adeola possesses the experience, capacity, and political will to reposition the state for accelerated growth, inclusive governance, and infrastructural advancement.
Calling for unity across political, ethnic, and regional lines, Barr. Ogunsola urged all residents of Ogun State to embrace the Ogun West governorship project as a collective mission for fairness and sustainable development.

“This is a defining chapter in our political history. We must rise above divisions and rally behind a candidacy that represents hope and balance,” he concluded.
