Ewekoro Local Government has extended heartfelt goodwill and resounding congratulations to the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo III, Okukenu IV, and the entire Egba people on the grand finale of the 39th edition of the Lisabi Festival.
In a richly worded goodwill message, the Executive Chairman of Ewekoro Local Government, Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa, speaking on behalf of the Executive Arm, the Legislative Council, Management Team, staff, Royal Fathers and the good people of the Local Government, described the Lisabi Festival as “a sacred annual renewal of Egba identity, resilience and excellence — a living testament to the unyielding spirit of our forebears.”
With a tone deeply rooted in tradition and cultural pride, the Chairman paid glowing tribute to the revered Alake, acknowledging his over two decades of purposeful and impactful reign. He commended Kabiyesi’s visionary leadership, noting that his stewardship has been defined by transformative development, youth empowerment through vocational and apprenticeship initiatives, preservation of Egba cultural heritage, and the strengthening of unity across Egbaland.
“Kabiyesi’s reign has continued to illuminate the path of progress. His unwavering commitment to education, cultural renaissance and grassroots empowerment has elevated Egbaland and reinforced our collective aspiration for a stronger Ogun State and Nigeria,”
the Chairman stated.
Hon. Adisa also extolled the enduring legacy of the legendary Egba hero, Lisabi Agbongbo Akale, whose courage, strategic brilliance and indomitable will secured the freedom of the Egba people.
He described the festival as not only a celebration of history but a reaffirmation of the values of bravery, unity and self-determination.
He further honoured the sacrifices of past Alakes and founding fathers whose vision laid the foundation for the enduring greatness and cohesion of the Egba land.
Highlighting the far-reaching contributions of Egba indigenes to national development, the Chairman praised their excellence across various sectors including governance, business, education, military, arts and public service.
“Egba sons and daughters have remained at the forefront of Nigeria’s progress. Their enterprise, intellect and patriotism continue to shape the destiny of our great nation,” he affirmed.
Reaffirming Ewekoro’s proud identity as an integral part of Egbaland, Hon. Adisa emphasized unity and collective progress:
“As a people deeply rooted in this heritage, we stand shoulder to shoulder with our Royal Fathers and all Egba sons and daughters.
The Lisabi Festival is more than a celebration; it is a reminder of our shared history, our strength, and the greater heights we are destined to attain together.”
In a closing note laced with traditional reverence, the Chairman prayed for enduring peace, progress and prosperity across Egbaland, Ogun State and Nigeria, while wishing organisers and participants a peaceful, colourful and memorable festival.
“May the spirit of Lisabi Agbongbo Akale continue to guide our steps, strengthen our unity, and inspire generations yet unborn,” he concluded.
