Abraham Babatunde Ogunsola, at the council secretariat in Ilaro, Ogun State, during a homecoming tour of the local government area.
Major General Shafaru, an indigene of Yewa South Local Government, used the visit to commend the leadership of the council for its commitment to grassroots development and service delivery to residents, particularly the less privileged.
He noted that the developmental direction of the local government, especially in the education sector, aligns with his long-standing advocacy for qualitative and affordable education for children across Yewaland.
According to the Army General, the strides being recorded at the local government level demonstrate that the administration is responsive to the needs of the people and is keeping pace with the demands of modern governance.
He also expressed satisfaction with the ongoing developments within the local government and reiterated the importance of education as a key driver of community growth and sustainable development.
As part of his personal commitment to the advancement of education in the area, Major General Shafaru disclosed that he would utilize resources available to his office to renovate classrooms and construct a perimeter fence at Yewa Secondary School, describing the gesture as his modest contribution to the academic development of the local government.
He further expressed hope that governments at both the state and local levels would continue to strengthen efforts aimed at ensuring that every child in Yewaland has access to affordable, qualitative and accessible education.
In his response, the Executive Chairman of Yewa South Local Government, Barr. Ogunsola, appreciated the visit and the General’s interest in the development of the area, particularly in the education sector.
