The colourful and spiritually uplifting event drew dignitaries from diverse religious backgrounds, all united to celebrate the season of Christmas.
In his welcome address, the Executive Chairman of Ewekoro Local Government, Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa, expressed gratitude to God for witnessing the fifth consecutive edition of the annual carol as the council’s chief host.

“In our usual way, we gather here again today to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, and to celebrate the values of love, peace, and unity that Christmas represents,” the chairman said.

He commended the Christian Fellowship for sustaining the tradition and for organizing a programme that brings together people of various faiths in the spirit of harmony. Hon. Adesina emphasized the importance of unity and community vigilance, particularly at a time when national security remains a pressing concern.

He further expressed appreciation to the Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, for his unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property across the state. “We shall continue to be grateful for all the good things you have been doing for the state, Sir,” he said.
Hon. Adesina also recognized the efforts of his cabinet and the entire staff of the local government, noting that their dedication contributed to Ewekoro Local Government emerging as the best among the 20 councils in Ogun State, as awarded by the Ogun State Local Government Service Commission.
The chairman did not fail to thank staff and political functionaries for organizing a befitting birthday celebration for him recently. He thrilled both staff and political functionaries with the announcement that his administration has concluded arrangements for the payment of the usual end-of-year bonus package, describing it as a gesture of motivation, honour, and appreciation for the workers’ unwavering dedication throughout the year.

" As we move into the New Year 2026 , i urge all residents of Ewekoro Local Government to work together toward building a better community.
Let us support one another, spread love and strive for excellence in all we do," he added, wishing all Christians and other religion faithfuls in Ewekoro Local Government and beyond a joyous Christmas and a prosperous New Year in advance.
Ministering at the event, Pastor Sola Opebiyi of the Gospel Faith Mission, Awowo, emphasized that the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ remain mysteries far beyond human understanding.

He explained that Jesus came to redeem the world, leaving His heavenly comfort for a sinful world in order to give humanity hope.

" Whoever believes in Him will have everlasting life ", he added.

Pastor Opebiyi noted that Jesus' sacrifice restored the broken relationship between God and humanity, a breach that began from man's disobedience in the Garden of Eden.

He further highlighted the importance of genuine love -- the very love Jesus demonstrated through His life and ultimate sacrifice for mankind.

Describing Christ role in redemption, the cleric declared, " Indeed, Jesus is the worthy Lamb."

The man of God affirmed with echoing the timeless scriptural proclamation that celebrates Christ's innocence, sacrifice and victory for all believers.
As the event progressed, the venue became electrified with vibrant musical performances that set the venue aglow. Staff members, dignitaries and invited guests were seen displaying energetic dance steps as the choirs delivered soul-lifting carols and praise renditions. The joyful atmosphere reflected the unity and celebration the season represents.

The excitement grew even more as different departments took turns to join in the praise session, turning the carol into a spirited and interactive celebration. Laughter, applause, and rhythmic claps filled the air as attendees appreciated one another’s dance moves.
The lively ambience underscored the significance of the carol not just as a religious programme, but as a unifying platform that strengthens bonds among staff and fosters a sense of family within the local government workforce.
Delivering the vote of thanks, the Chaplain and Coordinator of the Ewekoro LG Staff Christian Fellowship, Pastor Oluwafemi Oloyede, expressed deep appreciation to the Executive Chairman for his unwavering support in making the 2025 edition possible despite the council’s challenging financial situation. He also thanked staff, political functionaries, and distinguished guests for their cooperation and presence.
The carol service featured impactful song ministrations by the LG Staff Christian Fellowship choir and guest artistes, the traditional seven scripture readings by notable dignitaries, and a delightful session with Father Christmas who presented gifts to attendees.
